C10Sync LLC (“C10Sync,” “we,” “us”) makes shop-management software for auto repair shops and mobile mechanics: estimates, invoices, digital vehicle inspections, scheduling, dispatch, and payments (the “Service”). This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It covers our website at c10sync.com and the Service.
Two roles: shops and their customers
Auto repair shops and their staff (“Shops”) sign up for C10Sync. A Shop’s own customers (“Shop Customers”) do not sign up with us. The Shop enters their information into the Service, or collects it through the Service, to run its business.
For information about Shop Customers, the Shop decides what is collected and why, and C10Sync handles it on the Shop’s behalf as its service provider. If you are a Shop Customer and want to see, correct, or delete your information, please contact the Shop first. We will help the Shop respond.
Information we collect
- Account information: name, email address, phone number, role, a one-way hash of your password (never the password itself), and the Shop’s business name, address, phone number, logo, hours, and tax and pricing settings.
- Shop Customer and vehicle information that Shops enter or collect through the Service: names, phone numbers, email addresses, addresses, vehicle details (year, make, model, VIN, plate, mileage), service history, estimates, invoices, notes, inspection results, and photos or videos taken during an inspection or job.
- Payment information: card payments are processed by Stripe or Square. Card numbers are entered on their secure pages or card readers and are not stored by C10Sync. We receive limited details, such as the card brand, last four digits, amount, and status, so we can show and reconcile payments.
- Messages: the content, time, and delivery status of text messages and emails sent through the Service.
- Location information: when a Shop uses mobile dispatch, a technician’s device location can be shared with the Shop. If the Shop chooses, an arrival estimate can be shared with the Shop Customer.
- Technical and usage information: IP address, browser and device type, the pages and features used, error and performance logs, and cookies that keep you signed in.
- Communications: messages you send us for support or in a demo request.
How we use information
- To provide, operate, and secure the Service, and to keep each Shop’s data separate from other Shops’ data.
- To process plan subscriptions and, for Shops that connect a payment account, to help them take payments from their customers.
- To send messages the Shop asks us to send for it: receipts, estimates, invoices, appointment reminders, and work-status updates.
- To generate suggestions with our AI features, such as labor estimates.
- To give support, answer questions, and send service notices about your account.
- To find and fix problems, prevent fraud and abuse, improve the Service, and meet legal obligations.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use Shop Customer information to market to those customers ourselves.
Text messages and email
Shops use C10Sync to send their customers appointment reminders, status updates, estimates, invoices, and receipts by text message and email. Each Shop is responsible for having permission to contact its customers.
If you receive a text message sent through C10Sync, you can reply STOP to stop receiving texts from that number, or HELP for help. Message and data rates may apply. Mobile information and text-messaging opt-in data are not shared with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes.
AI features
Some features, such as AI labor estimating, send details you enter (for example a vehicle description and a description of the job) to an AI service provider so it can produce a suggestion. We send only what the feature needs. We use the provider’s business API, which under its terms does not use submitted content to train its models.
AI output is a suggestion. The Shop reviews it and is responsible for anything it sends to a customer.
How long we keep information
We keep information while an account is active and as needed to provide the Service, meet legal obligations (such as tax and accounting records), resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. After a Shop closes its account, we delete or de-identify its data within a reasonable time unless the law requires us to keep it.
Security
We protect information with encryption in transit, access controls, and separation between Shops. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise absolute security. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us right away.
Your choices
- Account holders can update their information in the app. To ask for access to, correction of, or deletion of your information, email us. We may need to verify who you are first.
- Shop Customers should contact the Shop that holds their information.
- To stop text messages, reply STOP. To stop emails, use the unsubscribe link in the email or contact the Shop.
Children
The Service is for businesses and is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. When we make a material change, we will update the date at the top and, for account holders, tell you through the Service or by email.
